In an April 3rd (1999) chat, Mr. Jacques had this to say about the series:
"The Series tells the whole story of Redwall with some additions. The artwork is superb, very European, based on Fangorn's work. The voices are very British, performed by Canadian actors. The music is extremely atmospheric, written and performed by the leader and orchestra National of Czechoslovakia. The animation is extremely good, movement and backgrounds both. The main addition is a little background history of Matthias before he came to Redwall. I have seen only one full episode. I hope to see the rest very soon. I am very pleased with it. I am not doing any voices unfortunately."
[when asked for information on when the series will air in places other than Canada]
"I only know plans for France. It will be screened there on the thirteen days before Christmas. Nelvana and Alphanim the French co producers [will be making arrangments for its airing in other countries]. Plans for videos are probably under way as we speak."
